The problem Tekline solves
What our clients experience with multiple specialised vendors.
The reality for most organisations today:
- Cabling
- Network
- Cameras
- Access control
- Telephony
- IT & office
- Audio
7 contracts, 7 invoices, 7 different response times, 7 contacts — and nobody accountable when a problem spans two systems at once.
The hidden costs of the multi-vendor model
- Travel charges billed separately by each vendor for the same building
- Unbilled coordination hours from your own staff between vendors
- Doubled timelines when a problem involves two systems from two vendors
- Incomplete documentation — each vendor documents only their own part
- Undetected incompatibilities between systems from different vendors
- Stacked profit margins on every service line — with no cross-optimisation
- Contract renewals on different dates — heavy administrative overhead
- Finger-pointing risk: each vendor blames the other when something fails
What you gain with Tekline
- A single technician visit covering multiple systems — immediate savings
- Coordination handled internally by Tekline — zero hours lost on your side
- Cross-system resolution in one call — network + security + telephony
- Unified documentation of your entire infrastructure — available 24/7
- Native integration between systems — designed in, not bolted on after
- Volume pricing on equipment — savings passed through to your projects
- One contract, one renewal date, one relationship
- Full accountability — we never point at another vendor
Savings at installation
Coordination · Grouped visits · Purchasing optimisation · No rework.
Single coordination — One conductor
One team plans cabling, network, security and telephony together. Trades do not contradict each other and schedules do not collide.
Typical saving: 10-20% on project coordination hours
No rework — Designed to integrate the first time
When one team designs the infrastructure, everything integrates without modification. With separate vendors, rework — misplaced conduit, insufficient cable, undersized PoE — is frequent and expensive.
Typical saving: 10-25% of total project cost by avoiding corrective work
Group purchasing power — Volume pricing on equipment
By purchasing across all your systems (network, security, audio, telephony), Tekline negotiates volume pricing with manufacturers and distributors. Those savings pass straight through to your equipment invoice.
Typical saving: 8-18% on equipment cost vs separate orders
Optimised cabling plans — Every wire counted once
When cabling is planned for network, cameras, access control and intercom in a single design, pathways are optimised, lengths minimised and spare capacity planned.
Typical saving: 15-20% on raw cabling cost through pathway optimisation
Savings in operation
One service contract for all your systems — less friction, lower cost.
Grouped interventions — One visit, several systems
When your contract covers network, cameras and telephony, one technician can check all 3 systems in a single visit. With 3 vendors, each visit is billed separately.
Up to 60% on travel charges vs 3 separate contracts
Faster resolution — One call, one team
When an incident spans several systems (a network outage affecting IP cameras and VoIP phones), Tekline resolves it in a single call. With separate vendors, each declines responsibility until the fault is isolated.
2-8 hours of lost productivity avoided per multi-system incident
Frictionless handover to operations
When Tekline installed your systems AND handles support, the installation documentation is already in the service team’s hands. No rediscovery on every call, no preliminary audit.
30-50% less technician time per intervention
One invoice, one approval process
One purchase order, one monthly invoice, one budget approval process. Your finance team does not process 6 separate invoices with different periods, taxes and formats.
3-6 hours/month in vendor management and reconciliation
Coordinated onboarding & offboarding
New hire: Microsoft 365 account, access badge, desk phone and network access — all configured from a single request. Departure: everything revoked simultaneously, with no costly oversights.
1 hour per arrival/departure + reduced breach risk

About Tekline
What sets Tekline apart from other IT or security firms?
Most firms specialize in a single field: security, or networking, or IT services. Tekline is the only provider covering every building technology under one roof — cabling, network, cameras, access control, intercom, telephony, audio, IT services, licensing and project management. One contract, one invoice, one number to call.
Is Tekline a Quebec company?
Yes. Tekline is a Quebec company with dedicated local teams. Your data is hosted on servers in Quebec (Law 25 compliant), your contracts are written in French, your invoices are in CAD, and your account manager is reachable directly — not through an external call centre.
What type of client do you work with?
We serve organizations of every size — from a 10-person SMB to multi-site real estate complexes. Our clients include property managers, construction developers, commercial and institutional building owners, industrial companies, as well as architects and engineers who need a telecom expert on their design team.
Do you offer services outside Montreal?
Yes. We cover all of Quebec, with dedicated resources in the main regions. For projects in specific geographic markets, contact us to confirm our deployment capacity in your area.
Our services & offerings
Do I have to take all your services, or can I choose just one?
You choose exactly what you need. You can engage us solely for cabling a new office, solely for your Microsoft 365 licences, or solely for your camera service contract. Maximum value comes when we manage several domains — that is where coordination and billing savings become significant — but every service is available on its own.
What does a service contract (operational support) include?
Our service contracts come in three tiers: Essential (unlimited remote support, 4h SLA, client portal, firmware updates), Advantage (+ on-site interventions included, proactive monitoring, monthly reports) and Premium (+ full management, equipment replacement, onboarding/offboarding, annual planning). Each service domain — cameras, network, telephony, IT services, audio — has its own tailored plan.
Do you resell Microsoft 365 licences?
Yes. Tekline is a Microsoft CSP (Cloud Solution Provider) partner, which lets us supply Microsoft 365 licences at competitive rates with monthly billing. We handle assignments, renewals, licence adjustments and compliance — all included in our IT services offering.
Do you produce cabling plans for architects and engineers?
Absolutely. Our Design Advisory service is built specifically for design teams. We produce IT equipment location plans (RJ-45, WiFi, cameras, access readers), cable pathway plans (TIA-569), Section 27 & 28 technical specifications (Construction Canada format), and we integrate equipment into the BIM/Revit model when required.
Can you manage a complete smart building project?
Yes — this is precisely our core added value. Our IT Project Management service takes charge of every technology trade in a building: cabling, network, security, intercom, telephony, audio, BMS. A single project manager coordinates everything, from concept to handover, with complete documentation at every stage.
Costs, budget & value
Does working with a single provider cost more?
No — generally the opposite. When you manage 6 separate technology vendors, you pay 6 profit margins, 6 distinct travel charges, 6 approval processes and unbilled hours of coordination. With Tekline, coordination savings, grouped interventions and volume equipment pricing generate on average 15 to 30% savings on total technology cost of ownership.
How do you structure your pricing?
Our projects are billed at a fixed price — you know what you are paying before we start, with no surprises. Our service contracts are predictable monthly subscriptions. For Microsoft and software licences, we bill actual consumption with automatic renewals. Everything is documented in a clear contract before work begins.
Are there grants or assistance programs available?
Yes, depending on the service. For smart building and energy efficiency projects, several programs apply: the Electrification and Climate Change Fund (FECC), Hydro-Québec’s ÉcoPerformance Program, and technology investment tax credits. Our team helps you identify applicable programs and prepare the applications.
Do you offer a model with no upfront investment (OPEX)?
Yes. For several of our services (IT services, licensing, network support), the all-inclusive monthly subscription model eliminates upfront capital investment. For larger installation projects, we offer a financing model where deployment costs are amortized over the term of the service contract.
Support, SLA & operations
What is your response time in the event of an outage?
Our standard SLA is 4 business hours to take charge of any incident (Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm). For critical incidents (P1 — system completely down), our Premium plan offers a 2-hour SLA. Extended 24/5 and 24/7 support options are available depending on the service and plan.
Do you have a client portal to track my requests?
Yes. All our clients have access to a secure web portal where they can submit tickets, track ongoing interventions, review the complete intervention history and access their installation documentation. The portal is available 24/7, from computer or phone.
What happens when an employee joins or leaves?
In our Premium IT services plan, onboarding and offboarding are included: creating or removing the Microsoft 365 account, assigning licences, configuring the workstation, enabling MFA, and securely transferring data. For telephony, we manage extensions and DIDs. For access control, we manage badges. Everything is coordinated through a single point of contact.
Is my installation documentation kept up to date?
Yes — it is a firm commitment in all our contracts. Every change made to your system is documented in our portal and in the as-built drawings. You never lose track of your infrastructure, even if your internal staff changes. This documentation is your property — you can access it at any time.
Are you compliant with Quebec’s Law 25?
Yes. Tekline hosts all data on servers located in Quebec, has a designated privacy officer (RPRP), applies compliant privacy policies and reports incidents within the required timeframes. In our Premium IT services plan, we also support you through your own Law 25 compliance process.
Projects & partnerships
How do we start a project with Tekline?
The first step is a free consultation — a site visit or discovery call. We assess your needs, your existing infrastructure and your objectives. We then provide a detailed technical and financial proposal with a fixed price. If you accept it, we schedule the start around your calendar.
Can you work with our existing subcontractors or suppliers?
Yes. We are used to coordinating with general contractors, electrical engineers, architects and specialized system suppliers. We integrate into your existing team and manage the coordination of technology interfaces — without requiring you to replace partners already in place if that is not necessary.
Do you offer a pilot project before a full commitment?
Yes. For clients who want to evaluate our services before a global rollout, we offer pilot projects on a single floor, site or system. This approach lets you validate our execution quality, our documentation rigour and the responsiveness of our support before committing across the board.
Other questions
When should we bring you into our project?
As early as possible, ideally at the preliminary drawing stage. Cable pathways, telecom rooms and electrical provisioning cost a fraction of the price when they are planned before the concrete is poured. We also work on retrofits, but the room to manoeuvre is narrower.
Do you work outside Quebec?
Yes. We deliver projects across Quebec and Ontario, and we support multi-site clients beyond those provinces through our certified partners.
Can you take over a system someone else installed?
Regularly. We start with a documented audit of what exists, then propose either a support takeover or a phased migration plan. We will tell you plainly what is worth keeping.
How does your 24/7 support work?
Clients under a maintenance agreement reach a technician at any hour, with guaranteed response times based on their service level. Proactive monitoring often lets us catch an anomaly before you notice it.
Are you authorized to bid on public contracts?
Yes. Tekline holds an authorization to contract from the Autorité des marchés publics, a current RBQ licence and an up-to-date CNESST certificate.
How long does the infrastructure you install last?
Structured cabling is designed for 15 to 20 years. Active equipment — switches, cameras, controllers — should be planned on a 7 to 10 year cycle. We provide a lifecycle plan so those replacements are never a budget surprise.
