HVAC
Heating, ventilation and air conditioning: all the systems that regulate a building’s thermal comfort.
Scenario
A set of automated rules coordinating several systems (lighting, HVAC, blinds) for a given context.
Presence sensor
A device that detects people in a space, to trigger the appropriate adjustments.
Dimming
Gradual adjustment of light intensity, rather than simply switching on or off.
Actuator
A device that carries out a physical action, such as opening a blind or adjusting a heating valve.
Zone on standby
A system’s economy state in an unoccupied space, returning quickly to normal comfort as soon as presence is detected.
